Giving a second chance - Animal Shelter Amor y Paz

Hey All :),

I am Alexa, a Colombian girl living in the Netherlands. I have been volunteering in the Animal Shelter Amor y Paz for 5 years and one of my best life companions 'Luna' (my fluffy cat ) came from this shelter.

Luna as many other kitties and doggies (around 120 doggies and 30 kitties) were lucky to get rescued from the streets and the wild forest in Colombia by Nora Mejia, the founder of this shelter. All of them got a second chance.

Nora, founded this shelter 21 years ago, she never has given up besides the hard moments, she is a truly inspiring woman for me.

And because of my respect and admiration towards her, I decided to create this campaign. I want to help her and her shelter, I believe and trust in her job.

I know from first hand, how difficult is to keep the shelter running. In her daily life, she is fighting to cover the shelter expenses such as:

- Rent (250 Euros/Monthly)
- Services (43 Euros/Monthly)
-  Food(15 Euros/daily) for the doggies and kitties.

But, I also have seen how strong and how dedicated she is with her children, as she likes to call them.

My Goal in this Campaign is to raise 5,200 Euros to cover the rent, food, electricity and water for the rest of the year (until December 2019)

I am aware that is a big goal, but I am confident that the people who watch this video or heard about her story if they can, they will give a gift to this shelter.

This video comes from my heart, this video represents hope to the shelter. I believe we all can help her to continue giving second chances.

Soy Alexa, una mujer colombiana que vive en Holanda,  he sido voluntaria en el Refugio de animales Amor y Paz durante 5 años y una de mis mejores compañeras de vida, 'Luna' (mi gatita hermosa) fue rescatada por este refugio.

Luna como muchos otros gatitos y perritos(alrededor de 120 perritos y 30 gatitos) tuvieron la suerte de ser rescatados de las calles  en Colombia por Nora Mejia, la fundadora de este refugio. Todos ellos han tendio una segunda oportunidad gracias a la labor de doña Nora.

Doña Nora fundó este refugio hace 21 años, nunca se ha rendido a pesar de los momentos difíciles, es una mujer valiente y una inspiracion para mí.

Y debido a mi respeto y admiración hacia ella, decidí crear esta campaña. Quiero ayudarla, ayudar a su refugio, porque creo y confío en su trabajo.

Sé de primera mano lo difícil que es mantener funcionando el refugio. En su vida diaria, ella está luchando para cubrir los gastos del refugio, tales como:

- Arriendo (250 Euros / Mensual ----- $800.000 COP)
- Servicios (43 euros / Mensual ----- $150.000 COP)
- Comida (15 euros / diario ---- $50.000 COP) para los perritos y gatitos.

Pero, también he visto lo fuerte y lo dedicada que es con sus hijos, como a ella les gusta llamarlos.

Mi objetivo en esta campaña es recaudar 5.200 euros (Alrededor de $19.000.000 COP) para cubrir el alquiler, los alimentos, la electricidad y el agua durante el resto del año (hasta diciembre de 2019).

Yo se, es una meta grande e inclusive parece loca, pero tengo la confianza que se puede, creo en que las personas que ven este video o escuchan sobre la historia de este refugio, si pueden, le darán un regalo a estos peludos.

Este video nace desde el amor que tengo por este refugio, este video representa una esperanza para el refugio. Creo que todos podemos ayudar a seguir dando segundas oportunidades.
