Give Varimperi pupils a chance

Varimperi Methodist Primary/KG is located in the Wa West District in the Upper West Region. It has a student population of 510 pupils. The school was started 23 years ago but still lacks basic infrastructure to accommodate majority of the students.

Caring Volunteers Network- (CAVNET), a local NGO based in the Upper West Region was on a tour of some communities in the district last year when the team came across the school in that deplorable condition.

As we investigated more into the school, we discovered that about only 170 pupils out of the 510 have the luxury of sitting in the classroom for lessons. The remaining 340 pupils have to resort to thatched outdoor classrooms for lessons. The 340 pupils are split between KG 1, 2, class 1, 4 and 5.

Speaking to some of the students in the school, they all complained about the bad nature of their classrooms and find it difficult to study especially during the rainy season as they usually had to end classes when the rains sets in.

The supposed classroom for the KG1 and 2 is a death trap as the building is near collapse. Most of these innocent kids come to school everyday with the hope of learning but the conditions in the classroom is not in the best of state. Teachers reveal how scared they feel everyday using that classroom as they believe the building can collapse anytime.

The assembly man for the electoral area said, he has made a lot of efforts by contacting the Member of Parliament for the constituency, the District Chief Executive and some stakeholders in the district for support but none has yielded any good results.
ACTION
Caring Volunteers Network-CAVNET https://cavnetgh.org/ is doing this fundraiser to mobilize the community members in order to construct a decent classroom for the pupils.
Our team met with community leaders and the community agreed to support the project by provding masons, block laying and women supporting the project with water.
CAVNET will make sure all donations are well accounted for during the execution of this project. Our team wil also update donors of the progress of the project. 
Students of Varimperi Methodist Primary school needs the support of everyone concerned about the welfare of children.
