Seven Cities Writers Project gives voice to the voiceless, bringing creative writing workshops to underserved communities. We create safe, supportive and inspiring environments for free expression. We publish the work generated in our workshops online so that the larger community can benefit from these unique points of view.
We have two ongoing projects for incarcerated women in the Norfolk City Jail, and will be returning for a workshop for men in the spring.
Also this spring, we have a public project that will focus on the collection of stories of survival from the Jim Crow era, which will be archived in local libraries.
And this summer, we'll return to the youth homes run by Tidewater Youth Services where we work with at-risk youth.
Your donation provides notebooks, pencils, folders, dictionaries, thesauruses, used books and magazines.
