Giving Back to Oak Creek

Get involved with your community and make a difference this giving season. Tuesday, November 27th is "Giving Tuesday" a global giving movement where individuals, organizations, and the world can give back to their favorite causes. #GivingTuesday follows Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday and kicks off the charitable season and end of the year donations.
Be apart of this global movement and consider making a gift to Oak Creek Watershed Council and supporting us with protecting our local watershed. Oak Creek Watershed Council works hard to preserve and protect Oak Creek and all of its surrounding tributaries. We have accomplished so much over the years, and have spread the word to #keepitclean and #packitinpackitout. Our work has resulted in over 20,000 lbs of trash removed from the watershed since we began. Imagine the state Oak Creek and surrounding areas would be in without our efforts.
Unfortunately, organizations everywhere are currently faced with increasing competition for grants, and receiving less funds than they have in the past. Our organization depends on donations and memberships for our most basic functioning costs. Unrestricted funds are so necessary for on the ground, project-orientated non-profits. While we receive grants, they are almost always for specific use, for specific projects. Therefore, we depend on your support to pay our storage unit fees, business phone, accountant, insurance, website maintenance fees, among many other crucial monthly and annual costs.
With this money, we hope to be able to update our website, which is much needed. Then, all of our supporters and those new to our organization can easily keep up with what we are up to. These funds will also provide a much needed cushion to the other recurring costs our organization is responsible for before we can get out and do more work. We would like to create new programs within the watershed, which is going to take some planning and new supplies.
