Girls Without Limits needs your help to keep this amazing, life changing club open! Below is a screenshot from one of our incredible parents sharing the impact GWL has had on her daughter.
THE STORY
Girls Without Limits (GWL) is WA based Not-For-Profit that focuses on providing an environment and strategies to promote positive mindsets, emotional intelligence, physical activity and a sense of belonging for young girls. It also aims to create strong resilient and empowered girls who are involved in the community. The club provides a safe, positive and nurturing space where girls from ages 7-17 are giving the opportunity to celebrate how unique and amazing they each are. It also provides them with the opportunity to develop friendship and feel part of a community of very special girls.
The club currently opens 3 afternoons per week with 2 sessions running each day to cater for our 7-10’s and 11+ girls. The programs our run by our amazing team of facilitators that include counsellors, art therapist, physiotherapists, meditation teachers and a yoga teacher as well as specific facilitators that we use for our school holiday programs.
The programs include a mixture of art and fitness but all have a common theme of developing positive mindsets and self-esteem. Their positive mindsets are developed through the activities and regular mindfulness sessions all based around our weekly themes. These themes have included goal setting, making a difference, self-care, empathy, boundaries and courage.
At the club we aim to empower the girls by not trying to solve their problems but my providing them with the tools and the confidence to solve them in a positive way that allowed them to grow and learn as they do so. The other critical element to our model that will empower them is providing the girls as they grow and mature with the opportunity to mentor and become positive role models for our younger girls under our leadership program.
It is a huge team effort with our dedicated facilitators and volunteers all contributing to make a difference in the lives of young girls.
