Girls keep score, in more ways than one.
Thirty years ago when I played boys baseball during the summer at Bane Park, we had a scoreboard in the outfield. We had announcers too. It gave it all a big time feel. They still do that at the boy's park. It's awesome.
Now batting, the first baseman.....
For the past three years, I've coached my daughters in petite softball. No scoreboard. No announcers. Yet these girls work really hard. And they love the game.
The city of Brainerd is ready to install two scoreboards this spring at the girls softball fields at Buffalo Hills Park. All we need to do is raise matching funds.
These girls play hard. And they keep score. Let's show them their score counts.
