Ginny Goes To Mozambique

Hi! It. Has. Happened. After nearly two years of praying about missions, I am GOING! As many of you know, I have been in vocational ministry for one year. After living a life addicted to drugs and alcohol for over 15 years, I surrendered my life and my heart to Christ FULLY four years ago. He has been so graciously faithful to heal and redeem my story, and I joyfully choose to lay my life down for Him. I currently serve in leadership at Recovery Ministries at The Austin Stone, serve the homeless under the I-35 bridge here in Austin, and speak at churches/prisons/anywhere when asked.
I have been invited by Iris Global's Village of Joy to travel to Pemba, Mozambique on a two week short term missions trip in OCTOBER. That's right THIS OCTOBER. Wow. While there I will be loving on the hundreds of orphans that live on the base, serving at meal times, cleaning, preaching the Gospel, and basicially doing any and everything I can to be a blessing to the base and surrounding villages. I am raising $5,500 to cover the cost of travel vaccinations, antimalarial meds for one month, roundtrip airfare, two nights of hotel accomodations in South Africa (overnight layovers), minimal gear, contigency to pay for potential medical costs up front, an offering to the base for allowing me to use it's resources for two weeks, food during travel, and minimal groceries during my stay in Pemba. Considering the limited time frame, I would love to be fully funded by August 20th so that I can purchase my plane ticket to keep from paying a higher fare. Your support would be such an immense blessing and enable me to GO as God has asked me to. Your prayers as I head out to Africa solo would be so appreciated. Thank you, in advance for prayerfully considering sending me to Mozambique. My life WILL be changed by the experience, and I have no doubt my ministry in Austin will too. Will you join with me in sharing the love of Jesus to some of the poorest people on Earth? I love you, and God bless YOU!!
