Everyone has a story about their life. Some are more fortunate than others; however I can honestly say that we are blessed and it's mainly because of the country we live in. The opportunities, the convenience of comforts like food, water, shelter and medical attention are all there for us. Sadly for others, they simply don't have the bare necessities, yet they find a way to make things work through assistance and help from other.
I've been going to the Philippines and supporting a medical mission that my cousin directs. The Philippines is dear to my heart and is where my father, who has passed, is originally from. I'm always touched by the Filipino people. Their gratefulness, meaningful hugs and beautiful smiles are just a few things they embody. While there we visit a nursing home, go homes of those that can't leave due to illness and set-up daily medical stations at various villages for people to come get free medical attention. We have dentist, surgeons, radiologist, pediatricians, pharmacist and nurses. I personally specialize in our set-up/preparation process and support all groups of professional volunteers; however throughout the remainder of the day I spend most of my time in the ophthalmology and dental stations.
Please help me in my personal mission to raise funds in order to continue to donate my vacation time to this great cause. I always try to reach my goals in support of the volunteer fee, which provides housing food and security. The funds also cover my flight expense. Any funds over my goals always go towards additional supplies and donations that need to be purchased and shipped.
I leave mid-February, but always start the fund raising process early. I want to thank you in advance for your support even if it means a post to your friends. Thank you for your time and hopefully support!

This young gentleman was struck by a stray bullet that paralyzed him. I raised funds through volunteers in order for us to get him a proper wheelchair.
