As many in our small community know, Dustin Gillespie passed away Monday, December 12th, in a car accident (news article). Dustin was born in Topeka, Kansas on March 7, 1980 to adoring parents Keith and Diana (Baker) Gillespie. He was the first child, and big brother to sisters Ashley (wife of Jesse Hughes) and Sarah Gillespie. He graduated from Seaman High School in 1998. Dustin was married to his best friend and love of his life Erin Broadbent Gillespie (daughter of Brian and Pam Broadbent) on June 25, 2011. They were blessed with their beautiful daughter Ally Elizabeth (age 3) to whom Dustin was a doting, loving father. According to Dustin, Ally was “the best part” of his day, and she had him completely wrapped around her little finger.
Dustin was a man of faith and humor, with a larger than life personality. He was a franchise owner of two Gambino’s Pizza restaurants. As many know, he was a passionate fan of all things relating to The University of Oklahoma. He would have loved to have talked OU with anyone, just not during game time. Boomer Sooner. He loved talking Erin into grilling out for their friends and family, Sunday evening talks with his dad, baseball games with his pals, their two dogs, Okie and Boomer, and coming home to Erin and Ally.
With Dustin's passing, Erin (his wife) will be providing for herself and their daughter, Ally, on her income as a high school english teacher.
Absolutely 100% of the funds will be used towards bringing the family out of debt, and ensuring Erin and Ally don't have to move out of their current home.
We are absolutely heartbroken about losing our Dusty (I'm his sister and can call him that), and just want to ensure that we're doing everything possible to provide for his two favorite girls, Erin and Ally.
