MEET SKYLAR!!
We found Skylar a month ago outside a gas station battered and malnourished. We rescued her and took her in, to nurse her back to health in order to find her a loving home.
We got a sad phone call from the vet this morning saying she tested positive for heartworms. Collectively, we do not have the money for her to undergo her treatment. It is a 3 month treatment plan and without it she will die. If we take her to the shelter in her current condition her odds of survival are slim to none, especially since it is a kill shelter. If we continue to take care of her she will die in our care because we cannot afford the treatment.
The money requested to be raised is the amount the vet estimated her treatment plan to be. The money raised will be going to pay the vet bills in advance for the treatment in hopes of being able to re-home her without adding an undue financial burden and higher chance of being able to find her new loving owners.
She has all of her vaccinations and the vet believes her to be between 1-2 years old. She loves to cuddle, sleep & snore, eat, and play with antler bones and our other dogs. Her disposition is sweet and calm and she just wants to be loved.
Please help us get this beautiful girl healthy by Christmas so she can finally live the life she deserves. Skylar and ourselves are grateful for any support.
