Ellie to Ireland

Hi, my name is Eleanore O’Neill and I am happily attending Seattle University working my way towards a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. As most of you know, I have had health issues the past five years, but am currently in remission. In September of 2014, I had surgery due to this illness and therefore I had to start my freshman year of college a semester late. This put me behind in units so I have been working hard to catch up to the required number of units needed for a junior nursing student. I have taken extra classes during the academic year but I am still two classes behind.


Junior year is usually the time one is able to travel abroad with classmates. Due to the rigorous nursing program at Seattle U, I am unable to study abroad during the academic year. From my life experiences, I have learned to live life to the fullest and take every opportunity I can. I now have an opportunity to study this summer in Galway, Ireland. Not only will this trip be an amazing life changing experience, I will also be able to complete the two classes needed for me to remain on track to graduate in June 2018 as a nurse.
 

During this time abroad, I will be able to visit friends and family throughout Ireland. I will be looking into our Irish family history and bringing it back to share with my younger brothers and sister. I will learn about the culture, society and food of Ireland in and outside of the classroom.
 

This wonderful opportunity will cost my family and I extra money. If there is any way that you can help support my adventure, I would be forever grateful. Any sum of money would be absolutely amazing.
