Get Ashley to Guat!

Hello! My name is Ashley Craine and I am a sophomore nursing student at ORU.This spring break, God has provided me an opportunity to go to Guatemala and provide physical, spiritual, and medical assistance to children in a small villiage in Antigua. I was not originally planning to travel abroad this break, but God clearly spoke to me to reach out to Andrea, a missionary in Guatemala, and use my break to serve with her there. Ahava Ministries, the ministry that Andrea serves with, gives women and children the means to leave a life of poverty and enter a life full of hope and opportunity. Ahava does this by teaching these people useful skills, showing them love, and leading them as disciples in Christ. During my stay, I will help withthe children at Ahava's after-school program and assist with the feeding program. 65 kids will receive a hot meal, tutoring, art classes, and the Word of God twice a week.
While in Guatemala, I will also provide medical assistance to those often without the ability to receive the medical attentionthey need. I was presented with an amazing opportunity to work alongside a local doctor, who is working towards providing a holistic health system to the Guatemalan community as a whole. This health system seeks to increase availability of necessary direct health measures, such as vaccines, dental hygiene, and proper nourishment, and also promote a healthy community by providing clean water and latrines to communities without these resources. This is a fantastic and humbling opportunity to use my gifts of nursing to make an impact.
In order to answer God's call, I need the resources to get there, which is where you come in. I need your donation to make this happen. In order to make this a reality, I need $150 as soon as possible for my passport, and $1,000 by the end of February for everything else. Most of this money goes directly towards my passport and plane tickets, and everything else is for food, supplies, and unexpected emergencies (God forbid!!) along the trip. Donations of any size will make a huge difference for not only my monetary goals, but for the people of Guatemala. I thank all of you in advance for helping me follow God’s plan and use my gifts to help this beautiful ministry. whether or not you are able to provide assistance monetarily, I ask that you please pray for me! Pray that God provides the funding so that I can get there. Also, pray for my physical safety, as it will be my first time leaving the United States. Above all, please pray that I will be sensitive to the Spirit in every situation and that I will be open to letting God’s love radiate to everyone I meet.
