Get Chris "back"

On June 20th Chris just finished his shift at his new job with the Harbour Authority of Cortes Island.  He had only 10 days left until his three month probationary period with the Harbour Authority was over. He went back home and decided to do some chores around his property. That's when the unexpected happened and he fell.  Chris suffered a sever lower back injury, and subsequently experienced additional medical complications.  The pain was excruciating and he was rushed to the hospital, spending a total of 4 days there before finally being allowed to return home.

Chris rents his home on a small gulf island with his girlfriend and their two dogs.  They both live busy lives working in their garden, volunteering in their community and enjoying the beautiful environment in which they live.

Chris' recovery will take months, requiring bed rest, medication, physiotherapy and trips to the mainland for specialists appointments - two ferry rides away. 

The Harbour Authority has decided to promote Chris to the full position of Wharfinger, placing him on medical leave until he is able to return to work.  They are holding his position for him until he is able to work again but Chris’ household needs help to get through the next couple of months.  

The Harbour Authority of Cortes is spearheading this campaign, hoping to raise 2 months wages and living expenses for Chris so he can focus his attention solely on his recovery and return to his work, where he is sorely missed.  "Team Chris" is appealing to the community to give whatever amount they can and share this message with their family and friends on social media.
