OMG!!! We have been invited to perform at the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas but we can't get there without your support!  Help us showcase Australian Burlesque to the WORLD!!!

Who Are We?

We are Leisa and Willow or otherwise known as Willa and Lilla or Willow J and Lilla Darmae.

We are two Melbourne based Burlesque Artists/Performers who met as cast members of the butoh production of "White Day Dream" in 2016.  We hit it off, created a duo act and on a whim applied for THE WORLD'S BIGGEST AND MOST PRESTIGIOUS BURLESQUE EVENT - The Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend!  We entered with our very fresh and surreal act, "Bauhaus Burlesque - An Act of Immeasurable Proportions," having only ever (at that time) performed it once before at the Australian Burlesque Festival.  Low and behold - WE GOT IN! So now we need to get our thrilled and excited selves to Las Vegas to share with 1000's of people around the world our very strange, very unique burlesque creation.

What is the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend?
The Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend is four days (May 31st - June 3rd) of incredible fun, sharing, learning and performance, celebrating the richly diverse art from, as well as being a fundraiser for The Burlesque Hall of Fame  - the only museum of its kind to feature the history and artists of the distinctly modern art form of burlesque.

Why Should We Go?

It is a most important event for Australian artists to be showcased at the Burlesque Hall of Fame as it not only keeps us on the global map but also allows us to share our outstanding talent and creations.  As lovers of the contemporary form of Burlesque we have been accepted into the Movers, Shakers and Innovators Showcase - a night sparkling with the world's progressive artists in Burlesque.

We are both extremely hard working and passionate performers who's credits reflect on our commitment within the Melbourne burlesque and arts scene. Here's just a few:

Why Did We Create Bauhaus Burlesque - An Act of Immeasurable Proportions?

We wanted to create something new, something fresh, something surreal.  The act explores the concepts of the perception of the body within architecture, within each other and within space while paying homage to the Bauhaus Ballet (of the Bauhaus School of Architecture) Berlin 1920's. With a neo-futuristic aesthetic, we demonstrate the size difference of the body while also alluding to Jungian ideas of the Shadow Self.  Through the medium of Burlesque, the audience is taken into a strange and fantastical space where two very differently proportioned figures dance, move and strip to reveal just how unique each and every body shape is!

What You Need to Know:

Although it is such an incredible honour to be invited to perform at this annual event, we are however, not funded or paid by BHoF at all. We do it for the love, for the sharing and to keep the richness of Australian arts culture on the global map.  Therefore we need your generous assistance in getting us there and your support to keep us there for the week.  We are asking for kind donations to help pay for our airfares,  accomodation and living away expenses.

The Breakdown:

 - Airfares:  $3000 ($1500 each)
 - Accomodation: $500 altogether (we are happy to share a room!)
 - Living Away For One Week:  $420 (budgeted at $30 each/day - we       can do it cheaply! We are very resourceful).

TOTAL EXPENSES: $3920

NB: If we exceed our target we will be donating 50% to the Australian Burlesque Museum to help preserve our own rich past.

The Australian Burlesque Museum is dedicated to the research, preservation and celebration of the Burlesque artform throughout Australian history.

The other 50% will help us out with lost income incurred during our time away from work.
