Get Well Matt Valente

The following statement was taken directly from Kathleen's (Matt's mom) email.


Matt is at  Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, Matt went into cardiac arrest Tuesday evening.  This was likely due to a congenital heart issue that was previously undiscovered.  His heart is beating well now but his lungs has suffered damage.  They have him sedated on a VVEMCO machine (basically lung bypass to take the stress off his lungs) so his lungs can heal.  We don't know how long for sure but they estimate that the machine will be in place for a least 8 days.  Once his lungs are repaired they will slowly release sedation and address his heart issue.
I appreciate everyone reaching out and asking what they can do.  For now, just prayers.  

Kathleen is  in Pittsburgh with her sister and is currently checking into nearby housing and getting some much needed rest.  As you can imagine she is exhausted and overwhelmed.  Right now all thoughts and prayers would be much appreciated. 
I know Kathleen is certainly NOT the person to ever ask for help or accept it in this case.  But with the amount of time away from home and work (minimum 2 weeks) the unexpected costs she will endure will surely be stressful.
