Laid Off, Stolen Laptop, Van Repair

Donation protected

Dearly beloved Family & Friends,

As some of you may know, I was recently laid off from my dream job at GoPro as a film maker (along with many other talented creators). I have learned so much over my time there, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn and share my work with millions of people! It's sad to be leaving, but at the same time I am so freaking excited to be moving on to bigger and better things. It is currently the day after I got laid off, and I am bubbly with excitment. I woke up at 3AM and couldn't go back to sleep because of nervous excitment and trepidation for what is to come.

As I plan my next steps, there are a few things that are very real and scary realities.
First off, as most of you know I make my living creating content whether it is video/photo. I am only able to do that because of two things, my camera, and my laptop. And my laptop was stolen within a month of me starting at GoPro last year. I lost all of my content I had been working on for the last 5 years, all of my hardrives, project files, photos, videos, everything. It was the most devastating loss I have ever sustained and it almost made me quit shooting. I have been really lucky to be able to continue my personal and professional work on my work computer provided to me by GoPro, but those days are over. In order to continue my work, I need to buy a computer, and i need to by a computer NOW. My entire career is dependant upon this tool.
Secondly, as some of you know, for the last year and a half I have been living in my van in order to afford working my dream job. Without this van, there is no way I could have worked at GoPro in the Bay Area due to the price of rent and my other expenses. My van is in dire need of about $3,000 worth of repairs. I would not be able to drive much further than the city without them for fear of getting stranded in the middle of nowhere.

Now that I am not working at GoPro anymore, my plan is to travel the western united states, doing freelance and contract work as well as creating content for the brands that have supported me on Instagram. Creating photo/video content for social media is a very real career path and I plan on chasing it. However the only way I can do that, is if I have a computer and my van.

This is where you can help.

I don't know how much money I will raise, but if you would like to help me continue in this path I am on, I would greatly appreciate it. I know that somehow, someway I will get the money that I need to get back on the road and get my career on track. For anyone that donates, I will be forever grateful, and you will always have a van to crash in if you are in my area. If you can't donate, I completely understand, and I only ask that you would share this gofundme with your friends that might be interested in funding my cause!
