Let's take Haiti to the Oscars-2018

Dear Friends, 

We are inviting you to come make history with us! Since it made its world premiere last year, Ayiti Mon Amour a "little" film, that was  financed mainly from crowdfunding and in-kind contributions has traveled to all four corners of the globe ; puting Haiti in conversations with the world on her own terms.  

It is rare to equate Haiti with cinema but we are doing it.  This is the very first time that Haiti has a film in the Best Foreign Language  Film Category, or any other category Period! This is HUGE people! This is huge for Haiti's nascent film industry.  It is huge for reframing how the world sees us.   Most of the films in this race either have big distribution machines behind them or their governement! Unfortunately our local Haitian governement has not yet responded to our request for support.  So we are truning to other creative means to reach our goal.  We do have a big MACHINE and it is people-powered with FOLKS LIKE YOU who were instrumental in briging the film to fruition 2 years ago.  Ayiti Mon Amour  is also being considered by the Golden Globes. How beautiful would that be if we had a double nomination!

On November 6th, AwardsCircuit.com released their list of Oscar Predictions: Best Foreign Language Film…and Ayiti Mon Amour is in their Top 25!

The pool of contenders in this category is a record- breaking 92 films this year, so to be listed in their top 25 of predicted WINNERS is very promising. It’s also important to note that only 6 out of the 25 films have female directors.

The road to an Oscar nomination is long and costly.  Ayiti Mon Amour’s campaign has thus far been primarily driven and funded by the efforts of Director, Guetty Felin and a small team of dedicated believers. Our campaign budget is two times greater than the amount that we're trying to raise on this platform. We're hoping to get some  funding from some European grant entities for the rest. 

As the clock ticks closer to the semi-finalist Academy vote on December 11th, we’d love your support of this unprecedented endeavor. 

How can you help?

 1.    Financial: We need more funds to buy ads and hold screenings.

2.    Social: Spread the word to your networks…especially those with connections in Hollywood.

3.    Media: If you have connections to media outlets, please reach out to them to create awareness.

4.    Airline Miles: Miles are money…help us get our team to/from screenings and interviews.

5.    Gifts from Haiti: Any and all Haitian products (i.e. Rhum, Coffee, Artisan works) that can be gifted at screenings will help to keep Haiti and Ayiti Mon Amour fresh in the Academy voter’s hearts.
