They have been accepted to perform at the prestigious 2017 Music For All (MfA) National Orchestra Festival to be held in Indianapolis, IN from March 8-12! The BRHS Symphony Orchestra is the first orchestra from New Jersey ever to be invited to perform at this prestigious festival! The BRHS Symphony Orchestra needs your help to bring our members to Indianapolis in March!
What is the BRHS Symphony Orchestra
BRHS Symphony Orchestra is Bridgewater-Raritan High School’s premier orchestra and has a long history of musical excellence in the Bridgewater-Raritan community. Every year they perform concerts of the most advanced repertoire – the same repertoire you would hear if you went to see the New York Philharmonic. It is an Honors Level class that meets daily. Students in this ensemble regularly place in other high level orchestras such as Region Orchestra, All State Orchestra, and New Jersey Youth Symphony. While the orchestra has been playing at a high level for decades, this is their FIRST opportunity to attend a National Festival!
What is MfA National Orchestra Festival?
The MfA National Orchestra Festival is the one of the nations top music festivals for students, drawing attendees, clinicians, and musicians from across the country. The BRHS Symphony Orchestra was selected through a rigorous audition process, and is the first orchestra from NJ to be invited to perform. This opportunity will provide the BRHS Symphony Orchestra exposure to outstanding conductors, professional orchestras and high level student orchestras, and other educational opportunities which will continue to raise the quality of performances for the students.
How you can help
By donating, you are directly funding the student’s once in a lifetime opportunity that will make a lasting impression on their musical and personal growth. This is not a competition that we are going to - the competition was being accepted! This is an event that is going to foster a life long love of music and provide the tools for the students and the ensemble as whole to achieve at an even higher level!
But the cost are numerous - transporing this ensemble via bus to Indianapolis will cost $14,300. Lodging, meals, clinicians, and master classes will cost $27,675 for the entire ensemble. it is THIS cost of room, board , and clinicians that we are hoping to fund through tihs campaign. Each donation offers you the opportunity to give the experience of music education to a child who has worked so hard to have this opportunity.
