Gerty's Medical Bills

Last week, Gerty's face started to swell until, eventually, the entire left side of her face was puffed out and her eye completely swollen shut. Thinking she maybe just had a black eye or something from a recent scuffle she had with Rita, we let it go for a couple of days to see if the swelling would go down, which it did. However, Gerty was not very patient with this process and began to scratch at her obvioulsy uncomfortable face until she eventually opened up a wound just under her ear. At thath point, I took her to the local vet who told me it was an abscess that she had just scratched open. We were given anti-biotics and told to keep it clean and that should do it and all should be well in a few days. Well, again, Gerty was not so patient. After another day or two, the abscess had leaked all the internal fluid out of the face hole she scratched open. It was as gross as it sounds. The skin on that side of her head was loose and just kind of hangy like a stroke victim, at which point she gave it a few more scratches and off came her face. I don't know why the local vet didn't provide a "cone of shame" or why I didn't ask for one, but I'm not sure if it would've helped either way as the skin was already dead/dying at that point. So yesterday, with the left side of Gerty's face literally hanging in the balance, I took her to a animal hospital in Saginaw where they confirmed that all the skin indeed was dead, needed to be removed, and then skin from her neck pulled up to cover the gaping face hole which now resides on her head.  The first process has already happened, which was cutting off the dead skin and cleaning the wound. The 2nd process to close the wound and do the "plastic surgery" on her face happens mid-next week after this current wound has healed enough to begin that process. This is where this GoFundMe comes in. If you know me, you know I hate asking for help for anything, and especially for financial reasons. However, this has happened at the worst time possible, what with it being Christmas Time and us already being on a tight budget. This vet/hospital doesn't take payments, and I don't have a credit card, so the bill needs to be paid in full before we can pick Gerty up and bring her home. Please help in any way you can.
