Georgia Philbrook's Retirement Gift

Donation protected
After 38 years as the face of Orcas Island High School and Middle School Georgia Philbrook is stepping away from her desk.

While we all agree that Georgia has earned her retirement more than anyone we know, this is not why she is leaving us. Georgia has chosen to move to Oregon to care for her great-grandson Jadyn and raise him on her family's farm. Georgia and her family in Oregon are committed to giving Jadyn and loving and healthy upbringing the he so needs and deserves.  We would love to share our love for Georgia by helping her to care for Jadyn and ensuring that she has all of the resources she needs to enjoy her retirement while also providing for her great-grandson.

As we all know raising a child is an expensive endeavor and not something Georgia's retirement savings was meant for. We can think of no better gift for Georgia's retirement than to provide her with resources to support her little love Jadyn so that she can enjoy the retirement that she has earned.

By our calculations in her 38 years Georgia has impacted the lives of between 1,500 and 2,000 students, along with their families and countless members of our community. We hope you will join us in celebrating Georgia and all she has meant to Orcas.
