George & Kelly White - Camp Fire

The is a Go Fund Me for George and Kelly White who lost their home in Paradise, California, due to the Camp Fire.
We’re raising money to help my in-laws, George and Kelly, to find a place to live and get them the minimum items needed to get through these hard times. Both are incredibly nice people as well as great parents and grandparents that have now lost everything. George was part of the surf music group the Tornado’s in the 60’s (one of their songs was on the Pulp Fiction soundtrack). He is also a veteran, having been a 1st Lt. Company Commander in the Army while stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Kelly was the principal’s secretary for Ponderosa Elementary School.
George barely had time to grab his cat and a couple of important papers before he had to run out the door to escape the fires that were already starting to burn their property less than a few hours after the fire started. Kelly had already gone to work that morning not knowing how quickly the fire spread. She stayed at the Ponderosa Elementary and along with the principal and one other instructor until all the kids were evacuated instead of running home to help save her and George’s belongings. Kelly’s journey was especially harrowing since because of her delayed evacuation she was stuck in traffic that was not moving for a long time while the fire burned all around her car. She barely made it out, and once traffic started moving, she picked up others who were on foot and helped them to reach safety.
George and Kelly lost everything in the fire and just made it out with what they were wearing. George is a painter by trade as well as a musician and lost all of his equipment and work vehicle, as well as all of his musical gear. Their computer is gone as well. They need to find a place to stay while they figure out how they are going to rebuild both their home and their lives, as well as clothes, toiletries, food, and a litter box for their cat.
