Generosity Fund for Ginny

Donation protected
In August 2017 at the age of 54, Ginny was suddenly diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. Despite her diagnosis, Ginny has travelled, laughed, cried, and spent many special moments with the people she loves while remaining constantly optimistic. Recently however, Ginny has entered the final stage of her courageous battle and her health is declining rapidly.

In challenging times such as this, the support of friends, family & community is invaluable. With heavy hearts we are reaching out to ask for your love and support.  We are in the final weeks of our time with Ginny.  We are asking for any immediate help you can offer.

Although Ginny responded well to initial treatments, she now requires a new level of care. Her ability to work and maintain her independence has declined steadily over the past year, and quickly over the last few weeks.  As a result of her new level of care, her loving husband, Colin, is also unable to work.

Ginny is known for being a pillar of support for those in her life, and would do anything she could for others without asking for anything in return.  To you who have been deeply touched by Ginny’s contagious spirit, we are asking on her behalf to contribute whatever you can.  Any contributions made will be put towards easing the financial strain (experimental medication, travel, lost work, end of life expenses, etc.) to allow Ginny’s immediate family to focus on what matters most.

As a constant presence throughout our lives, Ginny has been so much more than an aunt to us. She is our friend, our sister, our second-mother. If you’ve been fortunate enough to know Ginny, you are instantly drawn to her fun-loving, energetic, and witty personality. She is a free-spirited, kind, warm-hearted lady. You can’t help but love her!

We appreciate any and all prayers, thoughts, or contributions you are able to make.  A warm, sincere thank you from Ginny, Colin and their immediate families.  As Ginny would say, “Thanks, Kiddo!”

Sincerely,

  --- The Girls
Amanda, Krista, Shawna, and Pam

Additional info;
My name is Shawna Hughes and along with my sisters, we set up this campaign to assist the beneficiary and her husband with end of life expenses.  Ginny is our aunt.  We grew up in Halifax together, while I presently reside in Toronto.

The plan will be to withdraw the funds raised into my account and transferred to the beneficiary directly (her husband Colin) in support of end of life expenses.
