Youth Volunteer Trip
The Generation Love Project is a non-profit program for underprivledged youth.
We have the youth afterschool and Saturdays.
We feed them, take them to activites, and they do volunteer work.
Our goal is to give these kids a safe place to come, make friends, eat, have work experience, be helpful in the community, and be around good role models.
The youth do a lot of volunteer work with Adopt a Paw Pet Haven and their rescue dogs.
August 2018 we are planning a trip to Los Angeles to show the youth the shelters we work closely with and have them volunteer with a few of the rescue groups we work with as well.
They will get to see first hand the dog overpoluation problem, learn more about spay/neuter and responsible pet ownership, and we will get to rescue a few dogs and bring them back with us to new forever homes!
Of course while we are down there we will take the kids to Dizneyland!
Not only is this a great learning expereince but it is a trip that these kids otherwise would never have the opportunity to take.
We cannot take all the kids so we will be take the 4 kids who have proven that they listen, work hard, and are good leaders to the other kids in the group.
2 supervisors will also be attending.
The kids do not have the funds for a trip like this so the organizeation will be covering the costs.
We have calculated the trip will cost about $1500 per youth and supervisor for a total of about $9000
This includes airfare, hotels, van rental, food, & Dizneyland tickets.
We have no put the whole total in our campane as we will be working on other fundraising avenues as well that the youth will be able to help with.
