Generation Citizen Meets Calcutt Middle School

Students at Calcutt Middle School have been working through the Generation Citizen curriculum in their social studies classes. One of the groups is working on "bringing change to Calcutt" by focusing on starting new competitive sports teams at the school. Currently, Calcutt offers boys and girls basketball and wrestling.
The group has partnered with the District's Enrichment Team to come up with a plan on how to bring this change. They have surveyed their peers to find out which sports they would like to see; have reached out to all the key players, including the Superintendent, Principal, Athletic Director, Enrichment Opportunities Director, etc; have done research and come up with a budget, and have started fundraising efforts, such as applying for grants, selling snacks at sporting events, and teaming up with the Central Falls Alumni Association to start this GoFundMe page.
As you can see, the students are very invested in making this happen and we need YOUR help! So, thank you for your consideration. Let's make this happen!
