Hello gremmies,

After 13 years, our hosting provider, Bluehost, has categorized the dot net as a "file sharing" site. The phrase "no shit Sherlock" comes to mind. So, they have temporarily shut us down, offering an alternative to permanent deletion. This alternative is to host the dot net on its own server (its currrently on a shared server and hogging too much space and bandwidth). Having its own server, called a VPS, will allow the dot net to operate unencumbered going forward. Problem is, it's more expensive (surprise, surprise)

Here is the cost breakdown of a VPS:
-$59.99 per month for 120GB and 3TB of bandwidth
-Expected time horizon before next fundraiser: 1 year
-Total: $700 (excluding taxes and other fees)

To be clear, goof and I have been operating the site since 2004, and have never made a dime from it. We started the dot net under the pretext that hard to find music (especially Pearl Jam) shouldn't be hard to find, nor expensive. The costs of operating the site have fallen on us for the past 13 years, and we gladly paid them. But now, we need your help to keep the ship afloat.

You may have noticed there have been very few changes in the past couple of years. Our friend, BC, has been working behind the scenes with us to relaunch the site; long story short, we have a planned update to the site coming soon.
