Help Elaine and Alizé get to GDC17

Donation protected
Hello folks!

We’re heading to our first GDC , thanks to Pixelles Ensemble. We just need some help getting there.

GDC?
The Game Developers Conference is an annual event for industry professionals that takes place in San Francisco. GDC17 will be held from February 27 to March 3, 2017. It’s a place to learn, grow and network like no other. For two recent graduates and young professionals like ourselves, it is the first step to the rest of our careers.

Attending GDC means
Five full days of conferences to further our learnings and master new skills! The opportunity to meet fellow indies from around the world! An inside view of the latest technologies! The chance to assist to the different competitions before we enter ourselves in the next few years! What could we ask for more? We’ve both been thinking about this experience for years, feeling like it was out of our reach. We also have the chance to attend with a group of amazing women, making the whole thing a lot less stressful and a lot more enjoyable. The number of individuals that identify as women in the gaming industry is still unfortunately too low. Initiatives like Pixelles exist to help us make our mark. They’ve opened the door to GDC for us, but, of course, they can’t do it all. That’s why we’re asking for your support.

Where will your help go?
We have been selected to each receive an All-Access Pass to GDC thanks to Pixelles Ensemble. Your help will cover: air fare, hotel accommodation and all catering.

What will you get in return?
The gratification for helping us out and our many thanks. :)

Also, some game dev friends have generously offered some Steam Keys to help us out. We will hold a raffle among all our supporters on February 25 2017.
Make sure to enter your name if you want to participate!

About us

Elaine
Elaine is a Game Designer and Storyteller currently working as an indie dev in Montreal, Canada. She is also the co-founder of a startup studio specializing in gamification and life-size video game installations. She is passionate and creative and believes that games can help people better communicate. Her last year proved both challenging and fulfilling as she obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Game Design and competed in many game jams, for the most part with her beautiful baby girl in her arms.

Alizé
After several years of experience in marketing, Alizé went back to school to fulfill her passion for games, and now works full time as a Level Designer for an indie studio in Montréal. On her free time, she is developing a VR experience that will be presented at a national arts festival in Costa Rica. Self-motivated in all aspects of creating users experiences, she is also part of the core team of Osmos Academy, a nonprofit initiative that brings VR experiences to kids in hospitals as a way for them to escape their environment. She is a team player, imaginative, motivated and, upon everything, a cat lover!
