Giving for Gavin

Gavin Coughlin is the 4 year old son of David and Melanie Coughlin.  He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on May 6.  After spending 12 days in the hospital receiving treatment, he was finally able to go home.

Unfortunately, he was rushed back to the hospital the next day with an ear infection and it was then that the Coughlin’s received more bad news.  Gavin’s test results placed him in a high risk group which means he will now require more aggressive chemo treatment resulting in additional side effects.  He will also remain in the hospital for a longer period of time and require some form of ongoing chemo treatment for a number of years to come.

David and Melanie are obviously devastated by this news but are doing everything they can to assist in Gavin’s treatment and make every day as normal as possible for him and his younger brother Colin.

Gavin had his preschool graduation at the hospital.

Due to the long term treatment that this illness will require, I am asking for donations to assist David and Melanie with expenses so they can focus on helping their son fight this terrible illness.  The money raised will go toward medical costs, hospital trips, everyday living expenses, etc

David has been a dear friend of mine for 30 years and he and his family are some of the best people I have ever met.  Please assist me in helping them through this very difficult time.

Thank you for taking the time to read about the challenges Gavin and  the Coughlin family are facing.  Any donation that you can provide will be sincerely appreciated.

Sincerely,
Mike Malbasa
