Gathering Hope: Ministry to 501c3

Gathering Hope is currently a ministry for moms who have survived miscarriage or infant loss and desire to continue on the path toward hope and healing in Christ. 
It began in 2015 as an event for moms to connect with each other and share their stories--the loss of a baby is often a lonely and isolating journey. God has been faithful to weave together some wonderful friendships and a blossoming community, both in person and online, as a result of Gathering Hope. We have had two events, one in 2015 and one in 2017. You can see a brief slideshow of our last event here and a short video inviting people to our 2017 event here.
Today, we would like to carry our mission of supporting mothers and families forward by becoming a 501(c)(3), which would enable us to pursue these four goals: 
1) Hold a yearly Gathering Hope event.
2) Partner with local or national organizations to help women and families find the help they need either during or after a loss.
3) Fund the creation of a proprietary format, enabling anyone to easily hold a Gathering Hope event at any location, nationwide. 
4) Create a local response team in the DFW/Parker County areas for the physical items that families find helpful in the days and weeks after their loss.

Establishing a nonprofit organization can be costly. With the legal preparation to ensure that everything is filed correctly and in a timely manner the cost can often be in the range of $5000. We are blessed to have a CPA on our board who has agreed to complete and file much of the paperwork for us, but we still need to raise the funds to hire legal help to review the work once it's completed. Our goal is to get our paperwork prepared by the end of January and submitted for review by a lawyer by the end of February 2018.
