Garys Medical Expenses/Our Survival

As some of you may know, my husband Gary had been sick for several months, I worked a little bit over the summer, originally to pay down my own dental bills, but that quickly turned into needing the extra money to survive. I had to stop working so that I could take care of him, and that became a fulltime job. He has health issues and was told to stop drinking, so he did on August 11. Flash forward to August 27th he was being taken by ambulance to the hospital where a whole slew of medical conditions, caused him to be in the ICU for 3 weeks, and another week after that in a regular room on the same floor. He was released from the hospital on September 26th, and he has been getting better and better every day. However, due to being in the hospital for so long he has additional ailments that have caused his recovery to be delayed, plus he contracted a bacterial infection, that we’ve been battling, which has been debilitating, and very costly!
He has obviously used up all of his sick time and all of his vacation time, and we would have been totally helpless due to the fact that the government doesn’t pay into disability, and we have been trying to avoid early retirement, because he only has 2 years left to receive full retirement, and early would only give him half. He has been at his job for 30 years. My family have been life savers, and have kept us from becoming homeless, but now they are tapped out as well.
Now I turn to you! We have 1 month until we are completely out of money, and November will be a very tight month. We will have a roof over our heads, and food, gas and electric. We are going to need help with some medications, and upcoming procedures. Our medical bills are humongous. We are starting the Medical retirement process, but I didn’t realize that it could take 3 months to get approved, and they don’t backdate to when you first start the process. We are hoping that within that time Gary will make a full recovery and be able to go back to work to finish out his last 2 years, and hopefully life can get back to normal again.
