Gary and his family need our help….
At 46 years old, Gary is married to Karen and has two boys, Chase (10) and Ashton (8). After working as a Piping Designer for 30 years - in England, The Netherlands, Australia, and Canada, Gary has settled in California, USA where he has worked for Jacobs Engineering for the past two years. Gary thought he was “living the dream” ……. on Tuesday 31st July, 2018, that dream turned into a nightmare for Gary and his family….
After leaving work early on Tuesday, feeling unwell, Gary suffered a Stroke at his home that evening. Karen quickly recognized this and was able to get Gary to Los Alamitos Medical Center quickly and effectively, saved his life. Despite this, he went into emergency surgery that evening to remove two blood clots from his neck, that had traveled up from his legs.
Doctors are trying to work out what has been the cause of this, at such a young age, but those close to Gary will know he has been in a number of stressful situations recently and this is surely a major contributor.
As I write this, Gary is still in Hospital, nearly a week gone by. He has paralysis of his left side and it is unknown how long it will be before he is able to regain movement, and if he will ever fully recover. He will soon be moved to a longer term rehab facility, where he will undergo intense physiotherapy and speech therapy. He has a long and difficult recovery ahead.
So here’s where we come in….
For those of you living here in California, or even familiar with the US healthcare system, you will know that all of this medical care comes at a high cost – even with good health insurance. Pair that with Gary being unable to work and you can imagine the financial impact that this will have on the Bambrough family, who due to various circumstances, were just starting to stabilize financially.
Please, if you can, help them by making any donation you possibly can. Together we can help get them through this most difficult time. They really need our help!
