Who I Am:
My name is Jake Hunsbusher and I am an aspiring playwright. Before a few days ago I pretty much only aspired. I like to write and I send out my work to lots of competitions and festivals but up until recently, it never really got much of a response. UNTIL...
What Happened:
Manhattan Repertory Theatre selected my One-Act play, "Amulets for Garthenon" for their Spring 2018 One-Act Play Festival! Whoa!
What's Wrong:
I have to produce this whole play by the first week of April! THIS April! So my small team (of three people) and I need to somehow come up with enough money to travel to New York City AND stay there for a week AND also have a play to show while we're there.
How You Can Help:
The main financial stresses are going to be travel and lodging. New York City ain't cheap. So before we can even get to thinking about equipment or materials to actually make this play we need to take care of these costs. We're all very poor graduate students so while taking care of the travel and lodging makes this dream an actual possibility we still need funds for costumes, props, media, publicity, and much more! So by donating to our project you can help make this happen!
What You Get If You Donate:
Anyone who donates ANY amount will receive updates of our progress throughout this crazy production process. This will include stuff like, blog posts, behind the scenes footage, and cool creative stuff like art or music! You’ll also have helped fund a new original play for the New York City stage!
