Garden Oak Holiday Lights 2019 Fund

In 2012, my wife and I decorated our home with Christmas lights and syncronized them to music. Our unique display has continued every year since ,adding a little more each year. For each minute of music we play, my wife and I spend about 12 hours programming the lights.
During our display, we collect donations for the National Foundation for Cancer Research. Since 2012, through 2017, we raised almost $22,000 from the over 27,000 people who visited our display. During this time we have heard numerous stories from guests who lost loved ones to cancer, people who survived and people who are currently battling cancer.
The number of visitors to our display each year continues to grow and since this display is at our home, traffic is becoming a concern. We currently have volunteers, out every night our display runs, to keep things under control so everyone remains safe and our neighbors can get home.
We are raising funds to move our display to a piece of land we can use during the Christmas season. On this property we want to build a Christmas town square. These funds will be used to build our own "Hollywood set" complete with store fronts, decorations, Santa's workshop and lights. Visitors will be able to enter the square to watch the lighting display.
Up to this point, my wife and I have paid for all the expenses, but this new concept is more than we can personally afford. Our display has always been free and 100% of the funds donated have gone to the National Foundation for Cancer Research. We would like to continue to do this with the new display.
Majority of the funds are needed by the end of the first half of 2018 for us to build and have everything ready by Christmas 2019. Many families have made our display their family tradition and we would like to continue this well into the future with this new concept.
We have a successful record of raising funds, increasing our display elements and making the season magical to many. Please help make this possible. We can only do this with your support.
