Garden Concert Series - Fundraiser

What is the Garden Concert Series?

The Garden Concert Series (GCS) centers you in warm heartfelt wonderland of sweet melodies accompanying soulful guitar sounds as the sun spreads its rays of light onto you and your friends. Here, you'll sip on a delicious craft brew or a fresh cold pressed juice and enjoy flavors that are inspired by what's been grown in the garden. This space bridges together music, food, and the arts while celebrating and supporting people of color (poc) in business, farming and the arts.  Together we uphold safe space for Black & Brown, women, queer, and trans people that sparkles with creativity and positive healing vibes.

Who Are We?

Leaders of the Garden Concert Series (and most of our collaborators) are Black artists who work in the cycle of food production, from farming to food preparation and medicine making.  We are a collective of musicians and audiophiles impacting social change through art and food by bringing awareness to the relationship between our work, our food, and our wellness.  GCS is a space for us to share abundance with our community through exquisite food, thoughtful entertainment, and loving service.

Our long-term vision for this project is to collectively own land which will provide a venue to host events, grow our own food, build structures for relief and relaxation, and offer resources and skill-shares in land stewardship.  We aim to empower creative, nature-loving, feminine-centered, queer, trans, non-binary, and transitioning poc with a safe place to find fulfilling work, community, and healing.

What Does It Cost?

Last year, production costs for the event Series landed around $4,800 -including  modest administrative stipends. We funded the series entirely through our savings.  Although the events proved successful in the community, we spent more money than we made from them.  This year, we want to offer you organic produce, responsibly raised meat, and wild caught fish from local poc farmers.  We also want to invite up-and-coming folk musicians, artists, and businesses, but keep the ticket prices accessible- not more than $30. We need your help to do it!

We are asking our entire community to donate $5,000 in support to cover the production costs of three Garden Concerts.  This will give us purchasing power to source our food from local poc-led organic sustainable farms and ranches, pay artists' performance fees, pay travel fees, and rent/purchase equipment for the series. Your support will foster our growth in creating collaborative spaces that bridge the arts and agriculture for people of color.

How Can You Help?

Make a $10 donation and ask nine (9) of your friends to donate $10 by tagging them on social media. This simple step will raise $100 for GCS in no time! This is one action toward creating a sustainable environment for farmers, artists, and consumers.

Support from our community is integral in our success.  Your financial contribution makes it possible for us to host this series and makes wellness accessible to underrepresented communities.  Thank you for being our accomplice in this effort.  Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram at  "Garden Concert Series"  for updates along the way!
