Gage Borgwardt Memorial Scholarship Fund

Donation protected
We are raising funds to establish a scholarship fund to award those applicants who are suffering (or have suffered) from mental illness or who have been touched by a loved one suffering from mental illness. The purpose of this scholarship fund will be to raise awareness to mental illness and suicide while providing funds for those going to college.

We recently lost our son, Gage Borgwardt, to suicide. He was only 19 years old and had already made such high achievements at his young age. He graduated high school with honors in 2017 and was also part of the National Honor Society. He was highly academic and brilliant beyond his years. He was part of Knowledge Bowl, Science Bowl and math competitions throughout his middle school and high school years. He was attending college for Chemical Engineering and had a great job of almost 2 years. He had a large family who loved him and supported him. His little brother is only 9 and looked up to him because of his intelligence and kind nature.

Gage was a loving and fun natured young man. He was kind and helpful. He would be your friend if you needed one and your shoulder to cry on. He voluntarily tutored those who struggled and was always willing to help family members in times of need. He enjoyed going to the movies with his grandpa, fishing, camping, playing games online and solving Rubik's cubes with his eyes closed. He is dearly missed and we hope to keep his memory alive through this scholarship fund.
