Gabriel Windchaser Emergency Fund

Tax deductible
We were contacted by the shelter when this darling boy came in as a stray with a badly fractured front left leg. Not only did he have a broken leg he tested positive for FIV - we took one look at that sweet face and agreed to rescue him literally hours before he was to be killed.

But the story doesn't end there, after he got to our vets they called shocked at what they found on the x-rays of the broken leg. The reason his leg had been broken was  because he had been shot, twice. The bullets still in his leg. He was to have surgery on the leg but got terribly sick with a upper respiratory infection and spent a week on IV fluids, antibiotics and pain medications. Through it all this sweet boy did nothing but purr and roll over for belly rubs.

By the time he was well enough to have surgery the surgeon took more x-rays and the bones had knitted well enough that she decided to cast his leg and let it heal naturally. If the bullets become a problem we can remove them later. So, under anesthetic he went and was casted and neutered all at once. He woke up happy and ready to eat!

So far his medical bills are tipping the scales at $1100.00 but he will need more medical care as the cast in three weeks will have to be replaced and more x-rays done.

We hope you'll contribute to his fund and help us to help him. Remember it's a tax deduction and we all thank you for your help!
