Hey everyone!

Time is flying by! As I have just finished the first quarter of my senior year in high school, I can already tell that there is so much excitment and change just around the corner. I have already sent in my applications to four different colleges and I am eager to hear from them in their decisions. I have applied to Texas A&M University (College Station, TX), Tarleton State University (Stevenville, TX), Messiah College (Mechanicsburg, PA) and Cornell University(Ithaca, NY). I plan to major in Animal Science with the intentions of continuing on to earn my doctorate in Veterinary Medicine with an emphasis on large animals, even more specifially, on horses. Animals have always been a major part of my life. Even now, as I live in Chiang Rai, Thailand spending time with animals, such as at our dairy goat farm, is important to me.

My family and I moved to Thailand in 2006 in order to become missionaries and to do community development in Northern Thailand. Being a missionary kid has been an experience that I wouldn't trade for the world. I have been able to experience different cultures, food, ideas, and daily life in ways that I would have never been given the chance to had I not moved to Thailand. Although being a missionary kid in Thailand has been an extroadinary opprotunity, missionary kids are faced with some difficulties. One of these difficulties is feeling like you don't truly belong. As a missionary kid, you don't look like the people you are in community with, but yet have a different perspecitive than the people from your original culture. Another difficulty is finding ways to earn money. Not being a Thai citizen, I am unable to get a job to earn money for spending or saving. There are a number of small jobs that pay using Thai labor rates that a missionary kid can have, such as mowing the lawn or babysitting, and that has always been provided for me in the small activities I wanted to participate in.

Now, as I prepare for college there are a number of things I have been trying to save money for. One of these things is a computer. I have had this on my radar for a while now and have been saving money. My goal is to buy a 15-inch Macbook Pro with retina display (http://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/). The total cost of this Macbook Pro is $1999. I have already saved $530 to put towards this computer I will need in college, so the remaining amount I need to save is $1469. I am continuing to do the small jobs that are avilable to me in order to earn the money needed for this computer I'll use in college.

As I write this I want to ask for your support in the upcoming months. I want to ask that you will continue to lift me up in your prayers as I finish up my senior year of high school and as I am applying to colleges. That choosing the college I will attend will not be something that stresses me out, but rather encourages me and get's me ready for the upcoming years. That when I return to the States I will be able to find a community just like I have had here that builds each other up and knows how to encourage each other. I also want to ask that you consider helping to support me in this need of buying a computer as I prepare for leaving my family and heading to college.

I am excited about this upcoming time in my life, and I'm curious to see what God is going to do through it all.
