Morocco Expedition

My name is Gemma Armstrong and I will be participating in an expedition in the northwest of Africa, in Morocco during the summer of 2019.

During my time in Morocco I will be exploring the country and be in places such as Marrakesh and Essaouira.  I will be trying to adapt to the smells and sounds of a new country. 

I will also be challenging myself while in Morocco. We will be going on a trek and have a selection of locations such as the High Atlas Mountains or the rugged Atlantic coast. I will have the opportunity to experience a great diversity of environments and pushing myself to the limits to challenge myself and achieve a goal. 

Possibly the most rewarding part of this expedition I will be contributing to a small community in Morocco. We will be helping out with projects in local communities where we will interact directly with the culture and get involved in worthwhile tasks. Past groups have renovated schools and community centres, refurbished sanitation facilities and classrooms, built pathways and installed irrigation systems and I hope to contribute to a community just as effectively.
