$295 of $5,000 goal

Our History:
Established in 1975, the Fort Walton Beach Community Chorus has a long standing tradition of serving the Greater Okaloosa County in a variety of capacities.  The FWBCC is a non-profit organization and provides amateur community entertainment with the primary objective of providing scholarships to graduating seniors from Northwest Florida who will major or minor in music.

The FWBCC features two primary concerts annually.   Our spring show often features a patriotic theme, but also has a balanced program to include Broadway productions, etc.  Our Christmas / Holiday performances in early December are the complete package for the holidays.  As with any function, our members dedicate hundreds of hours preparing for each performance.  Additionally, outside of the structured concerts, we entertain focused audiences which include the active and retired military, senior citizens in extended retirement housing, hospitals, schools, and beyond.  We continue to visit locations throughout the local community entertaining at a wide variety of special events and charities.

In 2013 the FWBCC was selected and performed for the national celebration to honor the accomplishments of the four remaining members and final (71st) reunion of the "Doolittle Raiders" that bombed Tokyo during World War II.  Additionally, we entertained and honored the World War II “86th Fighter Wing Pilots” at their reunion, and conducted special visits to several retirement sites.

Beyond our entertainment value, we take great pride in giving back to the young adults of our community through the awarding of College Scholarships.  The scholarship opportunities are offered to those senior students who have ambitions of pursuing the arts at the collegiate level.  We are awarded two $1,000.00 academic scholarships last year, but with rising tuition costs, we need to increase the amount of

our scholarships.  The selection process is conducted as with any other scholarship.  Applicants audition and are interviewed by a panel of musical professionals from our local community.  The winners are announced and are honored during our spring production which includes a special performance by each winner.

For additional information, please visit our website at www.fwbcc.org which provides videos of previous productions and events.

Hi Everyone! The chorus will be starting rehearsals for our spring show at the end of the month. That means our scholarship committee will also be focusing on getting the word out about our scholarship, listening to auditions, and finally....selecting our 2018 scholarship winners. The winners will be showcased at our May 19th show!

The chorus would love to increase the amount of our scholarships and/or the number of scholarships given each year. Donate today to help us reach that goal!
