Patrick Piserchio is a 61 year old retired career firefighter with over 40 years in the fire service. After he retired, he joined the Flanders Volunteer Fire Company. During his seven years with Flanders, he had served as Lieutenant, Bereavement and Executive Officer. Pat has received top Valor and Life Saving awards from organizations such as the New Jersey State FMBA, the Essex County 200 Club the Morris County 200 Club, and the St. Barnabas Burn Foundation on 2 different occasions along with numerous proclamations and letters
of recognition from entities ranging from the US Senate and Assembly, the Governor, the New Jersey Senate and Assembly and a number of local service organizations. Most people close to Pat know him as our beloved "FireGnome", but over the course of the years the residents have come to know him as the Elf greeting children with Santa. Unfortunately, on the morning of November 24, 2017, Pat was taken to the hospital due to severe pain and the inability to move his left arm. With testing, he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that had metastasized to his bones in several areas. With the love and support of his family and friends, he has started an aggressive treatment regimen and is working hard to get well. He and his wife Susan are maintaining a positive attitude and are fighting through this difficult time. This fundraiser will help them with any medical expenses, as well as daily needs due to Pat's inability to work. As Pat focuses his time and energy to fighting this aggressive cancer, we ask that people come together and support our brother in need.
