We are a group of 11 Education students studying at the University of Michigan-Flint. Our fields of study range from Early Childhood education, Elementary education, and Secondary education.
We were recently presented with the opportunity to travel to the Teton Science School in Jackson Hole Wyoming for an immersive educational experience. Each of us were picked for this trip based on a essay application we submitted. We are all passionate about education and providing our students with opportunities to learn outside of the traditional four walls of a classroom.
This educational trip to the Teton Science School will offer us once in a lifetime experiences that will pair us with extraordinary educators that are leading in the field of Science. We will be traveling To Jackson Hole, Wyoming from April 28th-May 3rd. Our study trip will be about experiencing place based education first hand and how to foster inquiry based learning experiences with our students. We will be staying in the Teton mountain valley, at the Murie ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We will be exploring the Teton science school campus, and learning about the vital ecosystem surrounding us.
We have created this GoFund Me because we need your help to get us there. We are working hard to raise money through fundraisers and bottle drives but we ask for your donations to help us reach our goal.
The donation amount that is being asked for is to help us with flight and program costs while we are attending. The cost for each student to attend this trip is $2500.00, that includes flight, boarding, food and our training for the week. We are all full time students working, supporting families, and trying our hardest to enhance our academic experiences. Any donation made will assist each student with the financial costs of this trip. Please help us make this study trip a reality.
