Hi my name is Sumaiyah Lee, a scholar of the A Better Chance program, in Guilford, CT. I was hand selected to participate in The Experiment in International Living.
The Experiment in International Living (www.experiment.org) is providing me with an awesome opportunity to attend their Spain: Technology and Social Innovation in Urban Culture program, for 4 weeks this summer. This program is for high school students who want to connect deeply and engage with the richness and complexities of another country.
As a participant, I will explore the host country Spain. learning how urban youth are making culturally important advances in technology while engaging in hands-on projects. By using innovations like solar power, 3D printers, and other technology, my group and I will transform public space in local communities.
As a result of my Experiment program, I hope to have an awesome educational experience abroad and acquire new ways of seeing and thinking about the world. With your help, I hope to develop lifelong leadership skills, which will help me acquire important competencies for global success. These lifelong leadership skills will prepare me for college and a future as an engineer.
While I was provided with a generous scholarship, it is with great humility that I ask for your help to cover the balance of the trip. All contributions will go towards costs such as tuition, transportation, and lodging. Any gift will be greatly appreciated. The balance of $3,300 must be raised by May 11th, 2017. I hope that I will be able to take advantage of this amazing opportunity, and use it to further my education. Thank you so much for your consideration, and any help you can provide! Please share!
