I love my feral kittys who come visiting, and so this winter, I made two feral cat shelters and put them in the back garden of my building. I didn't actually see my ferals much over the winter, however the first week-end in April I walked out to find a feral I'd named Scardeycat (because she was VERY VERY skittish around humans and wouldn't even eat until I'd gone back inside) had moved into the shelter closest to my back door.

Turned out she had chosen the shelter because she was about to have a litter of kittens.

We thought at first it was just two kittens--one black with white patch, and one black and white. However, we quickly discovered it was FOUR babiez--two black & white, and two nearly-if-not-actually identical lucky black cats.

I had begun feeding her grain-free canned food two to three times a day pretty much immediately, and when she moved her newborn fuzzballs to the deck built on top our building's garage, I continued feeding them over the first 9 weeks of their lives. Which, as it turned out, helped LOTS since it means mum didn't have to forage for food (reducing the likelihood of worms and other nastiness) and the fuzzballs were exposed to humans who brought them yummy foods and petted them while they ate.

Last week-end, my BFF Candice and I were able to trap the kittens and are now hard at work socialising them. Mostly Candice, since I am very, very, very allergic to cats.

However, both Candice and I lost our day jobs just two weeks after the kittens were born. So we need a little help to be able to cover their vet bills and food, while we foster them and find Forever Homes forthem.

(Also, we are planning to TNR their mum as well, since she was barely out of kittenhood when she had her first litter, and would no doubt appreciate the break from the sad endless cycle of getting knocked up by feral tomcats!)

For the record, they are one girl and three boys and are named Flynn (girl sleek tuxedo), Jones (boy fluffball tuxedo), Stone (twin who growls at all times and probably just needs a beer and some country music), and Cillian-who-was-Eve-Under-We-Realised-We'd-Misgendered-Him (Stone's twin, who was the kitten who allowed me to pet them the most every day while feeding, and is very chill, compared to his twin).

(Why, yes, we did name them after the Librarians.)

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated by these two unemployed foster mums!
