Funerary Vestment Fund

Fr. Lark Muncy - the Vicar at Holy Trinity Anglican Mission in Huntington, WV - desperately needs help raising funds to purchase funerary vestments and a funeral pall.  Time is of the essence as one of Fr. Lark’s parishioners is terminally ill and nearing the end of life. The mission also needs funding for other resources, including a food pantry and dedicated place of worship.

Holy Trinity Anglican Mission is the ONLY LGBTQ welcoming and affirming Church in the West Virginia coalfields area. This is a poor rural community, and this fledgling Mission is fighting against prejudice and discrimination from the local community because of its pro-LGBTQ stance and inclusivity.  As an openly Gay priest in a same-gender marriage, Fr. Lark has borne the brunt of the community’s intolerance and persecution.

A married, Gay Vicar of an Anglican Church ministering to a small congregation in rural West Virginia is the very definition of a challenging calling. Regardless of your spiritual beliefs, this is an opportunity to help make a difficult vocation a bit easier for someone who has dedicated his life to the service of others.

All funds raised beyond the basic goal of $500 will be used to fund the purchase of additional vestments needed by the Mission for use on other occasions. The White vestments in particular are used for the funeral services of children.  Any additional funds beyond the stretch goals - and minus GoFundMe's fees - will be given to the Mission as a donation.
