Funeral Fund for Brett Boachie

Brett Ofosu Boachie, my younger brother and my best friend, passed away on July 16, 2018. He was my confidant, my supporter, my rock, and literally my heart. Brett provided me with the energy that held me together and kept me alive.

Brett was the beloved son of Lydia and Ofosu Boachie. He was a trusting & caring brother, uncle and a phenomenal friend.

Brett was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse at a very young age, and by the age of 3, Brett had already undergone two open heart surgeries. His heart struggled to pump enough oxygen, which made it hard for him to do simple things like play sports, or even walk for a long period of time.

Although Brett visibly wore his insecurities everyday it never stopped him from being anything but himself.

Brett was the brightest and most confident person I have ever known. At the same time, he was kind, sweet and extremely honest. No matter what, Brett was transparent - what you saw was exactly what you got from him. He made the funniest jokes, he would dance every chance he got and he had the biggest heart.

Brett was extremely selfless, he always put his friends and family before him and had everybody’s best interest at heart. He would point out the greatest qualities in everyone and push us to be the best we could.

One of Brett’s favourite things to deal with was computers. Brett was currently in his first year at York University. He was majoring in IT with a minor in business. He had big hopes to develop his own IT company one day, where he would develop and sell software to major IT companies.

Early Monday morning, July 16, 2018, we were expecting Brett to be home from an outing with his friends. Instead, I received a call from Brett’s phone. It was not Brett, but one of his friends, who told me that Brett was admitted to the ER due to breathing complications and that we should make our way to Brampton Civic Hospital immediately!

When we arrived at the hospital a doctor told us that they tried their best, but unfortunately Brett did not make it! My heart was broken…

At this time, my family and I are asking for some financial support. All the proceeds raised will go towards assisting with the funeral cost for Brett Boachie.

The funeral will be held on Sunday August 12, 2018 at Demarco Funeral Home on Keele and Finch. Please comment below for details.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this! Please do not be afraid to share this post with friends and family and remember no effort is too little…

You will be missed Dear Brother, May Your Soul Rest in Perfect Peace!

Isaiah 57:1
The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart;
the devout are taken away, and no one understands
that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil.

I thank you all on behalf of the Boachie Family, May God Bless you !
