Richard Pereira Funeral Expenses

Our good friend Richard Pereira passed away early Thursday morning.
Rich leaves an amazing legacy in the Rhode Island music scene. Whomever went to The Living Room, Club Baby Head or Goldy's Records has a story to tell about Rich. They all start with how nice a man he was, and usually end with "he saved my ass!". Rich was known as "Mayor" because he knew, and was friends with nearly everyone in the music scene. He supported, and became friends with nearly every local band. He became friends with all of the people who came to see the bands. He taught many young people how to behave in crowded rock clubs. He always had your back. Period.
Facebook has been bombarded with stories about Rich. He meant a lot to a ton of people. He will be sorely missed.
Richard leaves his partner of 18 years , Maddy Bleecker:
"As most of you already know, Richard Pereira had been battling infections and other things for the past few months. He’s been in and out of the hospital and always back home afterwards. But this last infection proved too much for his battered body to fight. His heart stopped beating early Thursday morning and he went peacefully at Fatima hospital in North Providence, not far from where he lived. It was completely unexpected as he seemed to have stabilized after transferring from the ER. It will take a long time to adapt to this shock. "

It would be nice for us to come together to relieve some of the finacial burden from Maddy and the rest of Rich's family. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated.
