Funeral expenses for our dad, a proud navy vet.

Donation protected
I am writing this on day 3 of dad's death. I find myself talking about him in the present, and past tense. We are still processing. We are faced with so many challenges because he was in the care of the VA, in another state. The policies are a bit more strict with accessing information, which would help with the process of laying him to rest. This fact makes it hard to just feel and mourn, because we have to stay focused on the planning. With all that said -- It is very challenging to convey how we feel but, here it is:

What dad means to us:
Dad was a man of love and peace; A man of strong faith, and a proud Navy veteran. Dad joined the United States Navy when he was just 20 years old. He needed to be able to take care of us. My sister was a toddler, and my mother was pregnant with me. Providing for us was his ultimate priority, even at such a young age.  Family above all, was important to him. He played so many instruments, and he was a master martial artist; even up until his terminal illness began taking him from us. He loves jazz, and found strength and peace, in meditation. In fact, when they found dad lifeless, he was literally in a position of prayer and meditation. His faith gave him peace and comfort, up until the very end. There is so much I want to say, but I am struggling to get the thoughts out without crying profusely. So, I have to stay in the mode of planning the services, so we can finally mourn his loss.

The funds:
We need to fly out to the VA where dad is, as soon as possible. We are already 3 days behind on the process. The funds will cover a flight for my sister, and myself. It will cover the cost of the funeral home where he currently is, honoring his wishes. It will cover his cremation, memorial, and everything needed within the preparation for his final resting place.  It will cover the cost of bringing dad back home with us.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you in advance for your donations, every little bit matters.

-- Rest peacefully daddy... we love you beyond death.
