Funeral Expenses for James E. Mills

Donation protected
My father, James E. Mills, had passed away on December 1st, 2018 at the age of 59. He had many issues going on with him medically. In 2011, he was diagnosed with end stage liver disease. Surprising the doctor's expectations and the family's, he continued to live for another 7 years. But as time went on, his body started to develop more issues. First was the pulmonary fibrosis, then it was his organs (kidney and heart) that started to fail.
Back in November, he had fell and broke his foot. He couldn't mobilize very well without assistance from me or my mother. And he couldn't go through surgery with how poor my dad's health was. It had become noticeable that he hadn't been drinking and eating as much as he should. The day before Thanksgiving, he had a doctor's appointment to talk about pain medication for his foot; and while he was there, he got blood work done. Wasn't 30 minutes after when we got home, we received a call from his doctor. They told us to take him to the ER and to get him admitted. The results showed that his sodium was critically low and his potassium too high.
So he was admitted into ICU and the following morning, Thanksgiving, his blood pressure dropped so low that he needed to be transferred to another hospital. When my mother and I got there, my dad looked so much better that we believed things are gonna be okay. But the next day, we had gotten a call from his nurse telling us that he was having trouble breathing. That was the start of the end.He had stayed in the hospital for about 8 days. We had learned about so many issues happening with him: leaky heart valve, fluid in his lungs, kidneys not working right, breathing problems continued to get worse... We started to see him get confused more and more each day and that either he was resting or became restless. We made the decision to discharge him and put him into Hospice care since the end was near.
On Friday, November 30, he was discharged and transported home. The Hospice people had already got the bed set up for him by the time he got home. It was reported that during the previous night, he developed as what they call "the death rattle" in his breathing. The hospice nurse came by the next day to check on him. She noticed that his lungs here full of fluid and his fingers and feet were turning purple.
Just 24 hours later after being home, he had passed away. Leaving us broken and feeling empty as things escalated so quickly over those two weeks.

I'm creating this GoFundMe because my dad, unfortunately, did not have life insurance. And we are having trouble covering the funeral expenses. My dad is leaving behind a wife and a daughter to live on without him. His funeral was Thursday, December 6 at 11AM. Any donations you are willing to give will be so appreciated by me and my family. My mother will be in charge of all expenses that comes through. If you don't have money to spare, please share this around if you can. Thank you.
