Funeral Expenses For Big Mike

Donation protected
This is Michael Adrian Ontiveros. He is the son of some of my closest friends, Richard and Deann Ontiveros.

My eight year old fell in love with Michael when she was very little. She started to call him "Big Mike." So now that is what my family calls him. There is nothing small about Michael. His personality was big, his green eyes were big, his smile was big, his hugs were big. I think you get the picture.  Michael was shot and killed on Friday, July 7, 2017, outside Union Station in St. Louis.

Now his family is left to pick up the pieces and go on without their beloved son and brother. Who is prepared for this? Who has the resources for this? Not many people are. Richard and Deann are not any different. They need help to give their son the resting place that he deserves. If you are able and want to donate to help them please do. The funds will be given to his parents and used for burial expenses for Big Mike.

We would like to have the burial within the next two weeks, so if you are in a position to help please consider and give to this amazing young man.

I have attached some thoughts from his father.

Who will say the words?
I.
It is I who will say the words. And I will speak for us all.
His name was Michael Adrian Ontiveros.
He was :
A Son.
A Brother,
An Uncle.
But most of all a friend.

Mike had a great smile and big, beautiful green eyes that sparkled when he laughed. Those who knew him well, knew he was a gentle old soul with a huge sensitive and caring heart. He was positive, patient and kind. The love he had for his family, especially his brothers and sister was unequaled.

And yet he had a stubborn streak, the soft sort of stubborn that keeps a man fiercely loyal to those he loves. He was brave. He was good with kids and he never met a dog that didn't like him.

And like us all, he knew he was not perfect so he fought. He fought to exorcise demons that tore at his soul. Demons that occassionally got the best of him.

And yet he kept on struggling. And he never gave up the fight. He fought them for himself and he fought them for his family.

And he especially fought to stay alive so he could be the best uncle he could be to his nephew and niece. He loved those little ones to the stars, to the moon and back. And the joy he brought to them as they tussled and rough-housed with him will long live on as a testament to his character.

He was mercilessly cut down in the prime of his life. A bullet found him and he was gone in an instant. The man who always worried about others, the jack of all trades that was willing to give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it is now gone. He has been taken from us and now we, his family, are left to pick up the pieces.

If you remember Mike as someone who was willing to help anybody at any time, please help. Even though he is not with us any more, he still needs your help.

He was:
A Son,
A Brother,
An Uncle
and A Friend.
And now his watch has ended.
