Funds for Leah’s Mayo Clinic visits

I never thought I would have to reach out and ask for help, but my health is getting worse and worse everyday. As many of you know I have been facing this battle since August of 2016. It all started with a seizure and it’s gone downhill since. I have had countless MRIs, EMGs, an EGD, Barium Swallow, and too many other things to think of. The past two years have been the toughest years in my life. With countless misdiagnosis I feel defeated. Every symptom I have is the same symptoms as ALS. It terrifies me everyday and it haunts my dreams. The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN accepted me as a patient. Mayo Clinic is the best medical facility in the Nation. It is extremely hard to get accepted as a patient with them. They will be able to determine if it’s ALS. Right now my disease is named an “Unspecified Motor Neuron Disease.” Because of my disease I am unable to work anymore. I can’t type, write neatly, or even hold a fork.  Andrew, my husband was pulled from Sea Duty and placed on Shore Duty orders to be able to take care of me. He received orders to Bethesda, MD so I will be able to receive care there in between Mayo Clinic Appointments.  Life is extra hard right now, and things seem like they are only going to get worse. I wish Emily and Alexis didn’t have to watch me go through this, my girls deserve a healthy mom. We are going to have to buy plane tickets to fly back in forth and there will have to be Hotel stays because of Andrews family being three hours away. All of this is going to cost so much money. Money that we just don’t have. We barely get buy with one income as it is, so I don’t know how we are going to pay for everything. All I know is my family doesn’t deserve to watch me go through this. I’m terrified this disease is going to kill me. I really hate asking for help, but my health depends on it. Thank you everyone who has prayed for me, taken care of me, loved me, and encouraged me to fight this battle. I love all of you.
