Our dear friend, Fernie Campos was recently in the hospital. After many tests, he was released and sent home with a diagnosis of stage 4 prostate cancer. The medical decision for now is no chemotherapy nor radiation. Fernie and his family are reviewing other options, including looking into second opinion consultations at different facilities. There are clearly many unknowns that must still be researched. He has a powerful group of family surrounding him as he makes this journey.
Fernie is being cared for by one of his sisters, Connie with the goal of strengthening up. Our friend has lost a lot of weight, but has a good appetite and is regaining his strength slowly but surely.
I spoke with his sister Connie this evening about some different steps she wishes to take with his ongoing nutrition. She has spoken with some friends who've had family members with the same health crisis. They shared with her the benefits of organic juicing and preparing meals with organic ingredients. Connie feels this is the path she'd like to take with Fernie going forward in the hopes of creating additional ease for him.
To that end, this GoFundMe campaign will help to offset the costs of the foods, ingredients and any other items needed along with other organic and holistic needs he may require going forward.
Both Fernie and Connie asked me to expressed their sincere THANKS to each of you that have reached out in support of him. For those of you who know him well, we know he is a very humble and private man.
